Abstract

It has been found that under various experimental conditions deoxyadenosine, but not deoxyguanosine or deoxyinosine, causes pronounced and consistent inhibition of the incorporation of the carbon of formate into DNA-TMP of Ehrlich ascites tumor cell in vitro. This effect could be reversed by simultaneous addition of deoxyguanosine. Deoxyguanosine was found to have the same action in experiments on the incorporation of [32P]labeled orthophosphate into DNA.

Experiments with [14C]formate did not show any consistent inhibitory effect of deoxyadenosine on the labelling of DNA-TMP in Yoshida ascites tumor cells.
