Abstract

Werner syndrome is an autosomal recessive disorder associated with premature aging and cancer predisposition. Cells from Werner syndrome patients show increased genomic instability and are hypersensitive to DNA damage agents. Werner syndrome is caused by mutations of the WRN gene.
