Abstract
Geriatric oncology nursing is a specialization that requires unique knowledge and education to care for the older person diagnosed with cancer. Understanding principles of functioning in a multidisciplinary team setting, assessment of an older patient, and cancer-related issues are central elements of the role of the geriatric oncology nurse.
