At the end of 1, 3 and 5 days, the antimicrobial efficacy of medicaments against <em>E.faecalis</em> was assessed at the depths of 200<!--> <!-->µm and 400<!--> <!-->µm.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>2% Chlorhexidine gel was most effective followed by Propolis and <em>Curcuma longa</em>.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><p>2% Chlorhexidine gel gave the best results. Abstract

Aim

This in vitro study was conducted to evaluate the disinfection of dentinal tubules using 2% Chlorhexidine gel, Honey, Aloe vera gel, Curcuma longa, Propolis gel and Calcium hydroxide against Enterococcus faecalis.

Materials and method

Two hundred and ten human mandibular first premolars were infected with Enterococcus faecalis for 21 days. Samples were divided into 7 groups. Group I- Saline (negative control), Group II- 2% Chlorhexidine gel(CHX), Group III- honey, Group IV- Aloe vera gel, Group V- 20% Curcuma longa gel, Group VI- Propolis gel and Group VII -Calcium hydroxide (CH). Results

目的研究2%氯己定凝胶、蜂蜜、芦荟凝胶、姜黄、蜂胶凝胶和氢氧化钙对粪肠球菌的体外消毒作用。材料与方法对210例人下颌骨第一前磨牙感染粪肠球菌21 d进行研究。样本分为7组。I组-生理盐水(阴性对照),II组- 2%氯己定凝胶(CHX), III组-蜂蜜,IV组-芦荟凝胶,V组- 20%姜黄凝胶,VI组-蜂胶凝胶,VII组-氢氧化钙(CH)。在第1、3和5天结束时,在200µm和400µm深度评估药物对粪肠球菌的抗菌效果。结果2%氯己定凝胶效果最佳,其次为蜂胶和姜黄。结论2%氯己定凝胶效果最佳。在草药提取物中,蜂胶和姜黄有很好的前景,但要在临床上实现其作为唯一的肛管内药物的应用,还需要进一步的体内和长期研究。
