This decline in reported adverse events in 2015 compared to the previous year was mainly attributable to fewer reports following the HPV vaccine and replacement of monovalent vaccines (Hib, MenCCV and varicella) with combination vaccines such as Hib-MenC, and MMRV. AEFI reporting rates for most individual vaccines were lower in 2015 compared with 2014. The most commonly reported reactions were injection site reaction (26%), pyrexia (17%), rash (16%), vomiting (8%) and headache (7%). The majority of AEFI reports (85%) were described as non-serious events.
