Calcium and vitamin D have been shown in epidemiological studies to reduce the risk of CRC and conventional adenomas, but the evidence regarding their effect on SSA/Ps is controversial. Abstract

Sessile serrated adenoma/polyps (known as SSA/Ps) may play an important role in the development of interval colorectal cancer (CRC).
