Abstract

Cervicogenic dizziness (CGD) is a syndrome of dizziness and disequilibrium associated with neck pain.1 There are no definitive clinical or laboratory tests for CGD, and therefore, it must be a diagnosis of exclusion. Somatosensory pulsatile tinnitus (SSPT) is subgroup of tinnitus characterised by high-pitched, cardiac-synchronous tinnitus, in which pulsations are suppressed by strong contractions or compressions of the neck and jaw muscles (somatic testing).2 Electroacupuncture (EA) has been found to be effective in the treatment of chronic myofascial pain3,4; however, to our knowledge, it has not previously been reported in the treatment of CGD with SSPT.
