Abstract
Access to affordable, reliable, modern and sustainable energy is one of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) set by the United Nations for 2030. However, estimates indicate that progress towards that goal is not on track: 650 million people worldwide are estimated to remain without access to electricity in 2030 (IEA, IRENA, UNSD, WB, WHO, 2019).
