Individual characteristics, such as demographic characteristics, educational background, region, and type of their organization, have varying impacts on public cognition of NGOs in different dimensions. In addition, involvement, business connection, and training influence the level of public cognition of NGOs through function cognition. Abstract

Public cognition is the basic element of the legitimacy of NGOs and has an important influence on the development of NGOs, but it receives insufficient attention in theoretical research. 合法性视角下的非政府组织公众认知研究
公众认知是非政府组织合法性的基本要素,对非政府组织的发展有着重要影响,但在理论研究中却没有得到足够的重视。本文从属性和功能两个维度构建了一个量表,并在全国29个省级地区发放了2596份问卷,考察了公众对非政府组织的认知。结果表明,公众对非政府组织的认知水平普遍较高;与属性认知相比,功能认知处于更高的层次,更稳定;在内部结构上,非分配属性和政策倡导功能分别处于属性认知和功能认知的底层。个体特征,如人口特征、教育背景、地区和组织类型,在不同维度上对公众对非政府组织的认知产生不同的影响。此外,参与、业务联系和培训通过功能认知影响公众对非政府组织的认知水平。要进一步提高公众对非政府组织的认知,提高非政府组织合法性,就应该把重点放在传播非政府组织知识上,并不断加强这方面的公众教育,让公众更好、更全面地了解非政府组织。
