Abstract
The prosodic dimension of irony is in the focus of this research. The present study illustrates the prominent role of irony in American electoral political discourse from the pragmatic point of view represented by outstanding American politicians: Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Hillary Clinton.
