Abstract

The objective of the present research project of civil engineering was a block design developed specifically with a new component of the environment: the polietileno tereftalato bottles, (Better known by its initials in English PET). This material harms the environment, why are they reused and are linked with the industry of construction materials, resulting in a block that can be used in non-structural masonry, with projection in the structural masonry; Likewise, this research looked at how to reduce the costs caused by a block of conventional when it comes to be elaborated through comparison with an ecobloque made with PET bottles: reused material from waste generated by human beings on a daily basis. Another objective of this research consisted in giving a focus on the construction of social interest housing, in order to benefit the communities of poor who live in rural areas of the province of the Alto Magdalena-Colombia. The purpose of the project was always framed in the sustainable development, i.e., in the efficient management of resources through recycling and reuse of waste materials, which lead to the restoration of the environment and, thus, access to a better quality of life.
