Abstract

This article presents the characterization of a polylactic acid (PLA) matrix obtained via experimental procedure and its evaluation like a matrix to promote bone regeneration. The characterization included the chemical identification by Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), the thermal analysis by DSC and TGA, molecular weight measurement by viscosimetry and In-vitro hydrolytic degradation of the polymer was also studied to simulate the PLA application in the human body.
