The phase purity was analyzed by using X-Ray diffraction (XRD), which show that the synthesized phosphor was well matched with standard PDF file. Photoluminescence properties of Ca<sub>10</sub>(PO<sub>4</sub>)<sub>6</sub>Cl<sub>2</sub>:Sm<sup>3+</sup> phosphor shows emission peak at 563 nm, 607 nm & 646 nm corresponding to <sup>4</sup>G<sub>5/2</sub>→(<sup>6</sup>H<sub>5/2</sub>, <sup>6</sup>H<sub>7/2</sub>, <sup>6</sup>H<sub>9/2</sub>) transition of Sm<sup>3+</sup> ions. The emission spectra of Ca<sub>10</sub>(PO<sub>4</sub>)<sub>6</sub>Cl<sub>2</sub>:Sm<sup>3+</sup> phosphor was very intense and sharp.
