Thus, the experiences and memories that write this story were gathered and recorded through documents and interviews. The theoretical framework is based on authors who dealt with the history of school institutions and rural education. Data analysis considered categories that presented issues chronologically. Results showed that the school was instrumental for the schooling of the local population, also verifying its interaction with other institutions. Contradictorily, the school has overtime contributed both to the permanence of the subjects in the rural community and to their exodus. Abstract

Experiences and memories between the Monsenhor Lopes School and the Forte Community This paper explores the history of Monsenhor Lopes School and its relationship with the Forte Community. Thus, the experiences and memories that write this story were gathered and recorded through documents and interviews.
