Abstract
The results of a numerical calculation by the RANS method of a separated flow in a
planar channel in the presence of a honeycomb surface are presented. The calculation is performed
for Reynolds numbers (
\( 14\thinspace 000\leqslant \mathrm {Re}\leqslant 28\thinspace 000 \)) determined from the average mass velocity and channel height. The
distribution of the local Nusselt number is obtained for various Reynolds numbers and cell depths.
It is shown that the distribution of the Nusselt number on the surface is highly nonuniform; in
particular, the maximum heat transfer is observed near the upper face of the ribs, in the vicinity
of which the largest velocity gradient is observed.
