Abstract

Laboratory studies disclosed mild macrocytic anemia and elevated liver enzymes; renal, thyroid and liver function were normal; systemic inflammatory biomarkers and serum ethanol were negative. Abdominal ultrasonography showed signs of steatosis, with no splenomegaly or ascites.
