Conectividad de Internet en Colombia y su relación con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (2015-2020)

Abstract

This article presents a quantitative and exploratory study on the advancement regarding Internet access in Colombia after its inclusion within Sustainable Development Goals (sdg) indicators. The research objective is to verify the progress made on the sdgs related to Internet connectivity in Colombia by 2020. For this purpose, we reviewed specific indicators on the subject and information on the goals reached by the national administrations during 2015-2020 in order to reduce the existing connectivity gaps in rural areas and remote territories. The results are encouraging and show the effectiveness of the Colombian State in this matter. However, there are some gaps in the available information that make it difficult to evaluate the whole situation. The conclusions reflect on the progress in each indicator and make recommendations for the continuous updating of the databases based on management improvements and their relationship with each sdg.
