Abstract
Double inlet ventricle, including double inlet left ventricle or double inlet right ventricle may be managed with staged ventricular septation strategy. This manuscript describes our techniques for staged septation. The strategy avoids the Fontan procedure and culminates in either biventricular circulation or 1.5V circulation. The goal is to retain low inferior vena cava (IVC) pressures with normalization of oxygen saturations. Long term data are lacking, but the strategy may be an option for subgroups of patients.
