Abstract

[P1]: Intention The intention is to attempt, once more, to furnish a psychology that shall be a natural science; that is, to represent mental processes as quantitatively determinate states of specifiable physical elements, thus making those processes perspicuous and free from contradiction. Two principle ideas are involved: (1) What distinguishes activity from rest is to be regarded as F, an information exchange between a system and its environment, subject to the general laws of information. (2) Neurons are to be taken as the physical elements.
