Abstract

In the present work, Weisskopf hindrance factor \({{F}_{{\text{W}}}}\) for electric and magnetic multipole transitions has been analyzed in the mass range \(20\) \( \leqslant \)A \( \leqslant \) \(250\). An empirical correlation between the variation in \({{F}_{{\text{W}}}}\) as a function of multipolarity has been determined. The pattern of \({{F}_{{\text{W}}}}\) as a function of multipolarity and \({{F}_{\nu }}\) as a function of the degree of \(K\)-forbiddenness are found indirectly similar to the pattern of the conversion coefficient with multipolarity.
