Methods: This descriptive research was conducted at a University in the spring semester of 2016-2017 academic year. The universe of the research consisted of 257 students who are in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes of Department of Nursing in Faculty of Health Sciences of a University in 2016-2017 academic year. The data were collected through the 21-question questionnaire prepared by the researchers based on the literature. The data were also collected self-reportedly using the questionnaire. The data obtained from the study were analysed on computer, and percentages and mean values were used in evaluating the data. Results: The average age of the students was 20±1.82, 80.2% of them were female, 61.5% of them resided in student residence and 90.7% of them did not have any chronic disease. 93% of the students stated that medicinal and aromatic plants are beneficial and 72.8% of them stated that they prefer the use of medicinal and aromatic plants when they are sick, and 84% of them stated that they use medicinal and aromatic plants with the advice of their mother, father or other elders in their families. Conclusion: It has been determined that students often use medicinal and aromatic plants with the advice of their elders.
