Abstract
The results of a research carried out in Ecuador are presented. It is a migratory phenomenon analysis through its problems, approached from gender perspective, based on a survey designed exclusively for this purpose. The sample was collected basically in the province of Azuay, province of Ecuador. The results showed that at least in this case, they had positive experiences both when leaving and when returning. The departure was motivated to a large extent by the Ecuadorian crisis of 2000 and the Ecuadorian migratory return by the Spanish crisis of 2008, although they were not the only factors: the absence of the family, the conflicts of the couple and the reunification, were also relevant.
