The species is phylogenetically closest to P. fordiana, but morphologically resembles especially P. zippeliana, differing from it by having axillary racemes, mucronulate leaf apex, 22–27 stamens, cup-shaped hypanthium, and different phenology. Abstract
Prunus dinabandhuana J.N. Mekrini & Biseshwori sp. nova (Rosaceae) is described and illustrated from Mao Makhan, Manipur, NE India.
