Grounding Eternal Generation

Abstract

(a) “Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth” (Proverbs 8:23). (b) “Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth” (Proverbs 8:25). (c) “I will tell of the decree: The LORD said to me, ‘You are my Son; today I have begotten you’” (Psalm 2:7). (d) “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). (e) “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me” (John 15:26).
