Abstract

Abstract The integration of multiple domains is encouraged in order to respond to the need for societal wellbeing. For example, smart clothing is expected to be beneficial for health monitoring. However, there still exists the challenge of designing casual smart clothing that can both accurately measure health parameters and ensure a high level of wearing comfort, especially for infants. This study meets the challenge of designing smart clothing that applies knowledge of infant clothing design, sensor technology, and machine learning in an experiment. The aim is to solve the problems associated with the use of sensors for real-time body temperature monitoring. The use skintight sensors is more accurate but uncomfortable. Skin-loose sensors, on the other hand, enhance comfort but limit the accuracy of the temperature readings. The results show that a combination of multiple skin-loose sensors can be used to overcome the trade-off between sensor accuracy and wearing comfort in smart clothing for health monitoring.

The International Journal of Design Creativity and Innovation is an international publication that provides a forum for discussing the nature and potential of creativity and innovation in design from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Design creativity and innovation is truly an interdisciplinary academic research field that will interest and stimulate researchers of engineering design, industrial design, architecture, art, and similar areas. The journal aims to not only promote existing research disciplines but also pioneer a new one that lies in the intermediate area between the domains of systems engineering, information technology, computer science, social science, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, psychology, philosophy, linguistics, and related fields. The journal covers, but is not restricted to, the following topics: ·Theories on Design Creativity and Innovation ·Cognition of Design Creativity ·Innovative Process ·Inventive Process ·Analogical Reasoning for Design Creativity and Innovation ·Design Synthesis ·Method and Tools for Design Creativity and Innovation ·Representation of Design Creativity and Innovation ·Education for Design Creativity and Innovation ·Concept Generation and Inspiration.
