Abstract

Abstract Through the lens of the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model, this study aimed to analyze how psychosocial safety climate and organizational justice were related to: (a) work engagement through positive psychological capital (PsyCap); and (b) affective commitment through work engagement, in a sample of 217 hospitality workers of the Algarve (Portugal). Using structural equation modeling (SEM), it was observed that PsyCap partially mediated the relationship between organizational justice and work engagement, and that work engagement partially mediated the association between psychosocial safety climate and organizational justice, and affective commitment. The theoretical and practical implications of these results are discussed.
