PERFIL CLIMÁTICO E COBERTURA DO SOLO: O CENÁRIO DO ESTADO DE SERGIPE

Abstract

O estado de Sergipe é historicamente enraizado em uma economia fundamentada sobre o setor agropecuário, condicionando-o às variações climáticas, sobretudo em um contexto global de incertezas frente a instabilidade climatológica e a crescente incidência de eventos climáticos extremos. A produção do presente estudo foi motivada pela carência de estudos climatológicos a nível estadual, o que contribui para as dificuldades sobre o planejamento econômico diante do déficit de informações. Nesse sentido, anseia-se contribuir para a climatologia de Sergipe com análises geográficas sobre as regiões climáticas, correlacionando com o atual cenário de uso e cobertura do solo do estado, utilizando o banco de dados das estações meteorológicas de Sergipe, de 2000 a 2020, disponibilizados pelo Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia e o mapeamento de uso e cobertura do solo disponibilizado pelo Mapbiomas. As análises dos dados das estações meteorológicas das 4 regiões climáticas de Sergipe apontam para uma gradual redução dos índices pluviométricos a medida que se afasta da costa, com períodos chuvosos menores e crescente irregularidade na distribuição pluviométrica anual, associado a amplitudes térmicas mais elevadas, como reflexo dos efeitos da continentalidade sobre o clima do estado. Embora as condições climáticas sejam mais favoráveis para a agropecuária nas regiões climáticas mais próximas ao litoral, essas atividades estão concentradas nos setores centro-sul e centro-oeste. As propriedades pedológicas das regiões litorâneas associadas ao potencial turístico de sol e mar, restringem as atividades agropecuárias sobre o litoral norte e litoral sul, os quais apresentam urbanização rarefeita e dispersa em função da concentração urbana-administrativa e do setor de serviços na capital do estado.Climatic profile and land cover: the scenario of the state of Sergipe A B S T R A C TThe state of Sergipe is historically rooted in an economy structured around the agricultural sector, a fact that makes it dependent on climate variations, especially in a global context of uncertainty in the face of climate instability and the increasing incidence of extreme weather events. The production of the present study was motivated by the lack of climatological studies at the state level, which contributes to the difficulties in economic planning due to the lack of information. In this sense, it is hoped to contribute to the climatology of Sergipe with geographic analyzes of the climatic regions, correlating with the current scenario of use and land cover in the state, using the database of Sergipe's meteorological stations, from 2000 to 2020, made available by the National Institute of Meteorology and the mapping of land use and cover made available by Mapbiomas. The analysis of data from meteorological stations in the 4 climatic regions of Sergipe point to a gradual reduction in rainfall as it moves away from the coast, with shorter rainy periods and increasing irregularity in the annual rainfall distribution, associated with higher thermal amplitudes, as a reflection of of the effects of continentality on the state's climate. Although climatic conditions are more favorable for agriculture in the climatic regions closer to the coast, these activities are concentrated in the central-south and central-west sectors. On the coastal regions, due to pedological limitations concomitantly with sociocultural paradigms of interest to sun and sea tourism, tourist activities predominate on the north coast and south coast, with administrative and service sector concentration on the central coast.
