Its main indication has been the study of acute cerebral infarction in order to determine ischemic penumbra susceptible to reperfusion therapy. However, there is evidence of its usefulness in other situations such as: hypo - hyperperfusion states, tumor grading in glial neoplasms, head trauma and others. The advanta-ges of CTP are its availability, speed and the possibility of performing it in conjunction with angiographic studies. However, it has disadvantages derived from the use of ionizing radiation and iodinated contrast agent. We present different clinical entities that have been studied in our institution with CTP, where the technique has provided relevant information for diagnosis and treatment. Computed tomography perfusion (CTP) is a technique that allows rapid qualitative and quantitative evaluation of cerebral perfusion by generating color maps that represent the behavior of the cerebral microcirculation.
