La violencia policial como “mensaje”: un abordaje desde la experiencia de los jóvenes de Latinoamérica

Abstract

This article is located in the line of investigation occupied by unraveling different dimensions of police violence, understood as an effect of security policies. Police violence is understood, displayed on young Latin Americans as a message, and it will be read from the stories of young victims of these violence, two Latin American cities: Rio Cuarto (Argentina) and Barranquilla (Colombia). The work is divided into three sections plus the introduction and conclusions. The theoretical approach describes the notions of police violence, youth and youth. In the methodological approach, a synthesis of the decisions taken within the framework of the research path is slipped. Subsequently, the results are presented, first through a description of the context of the chosen cities and then through the stories of the young people. Finally, the conclusions justify the need to review these police practices, together with the design and implementation of security policies.
