Abstract

Prof. Albert Gabriel has had profound studıes on Turkish art and culture and has efforted seriously to introduce this studies with sientifical world. Prof. Gabriel who lived in our cauntry for many years, by traveling different region of cauntry and cominicating with Turkish peasant, endeavored to have a profound coprehension of the spirits of this people. In the Prof. Gabriel’s relationship with Turkey, his taking office at the Darülfunun was a turning point and here he gave lectures of archeology and art history until 1930.At the same time The Minister of National Education gave him work of researching into architectural productions in Anatolia and this lead him to make additional works about this topic; Afterwards this works was brought together by author. The book printed by Yapı Kredi Publiciation is a very comprehensing publication that introduce Gabriel as architect, archeolog and painter. The first part of the book includes studies of Turkish, French and Greek scientists interested in Prof. Gabriel’s art, and the second part includes material at the exhibition katolog.
