While I salute her bravery in taking on such a rare endeavor, I challenge Guarino and other scholars of American Catholicism, especially in liturgy and music, to undertake similar projects in the future, but to allow their ethnographic informants to tell their own story, and to allow themselves to be changed by the stories they hear.
