Abstract
EnglishAbstract The purpose of this work is to analyze the First American Regional Conference on Labor held in Chile in 1936. In our opinion, this meeting strongly marks the way in which the ILO will relate to the Latin American region, but above all because of the influence it has had, in the later development of the organization, the issues that were discussed there. In this way in a first section we will review some background in relation to the conference and then in a second section we will refer to the topics discussed and their influence on the further development of the ILO. We will finish the work with some reflections.
