Abstract
Abstract
The phenomena of excitation of shear Alfvén waves via parametric degeneration of lower hybrid wave are explored in complex plasma. In this theoretical study, the lower hybrid wave disintegrates into two modes, under the condition that the, when the plasma electron oscillatory velocity is a few percent of the sound velocity: a shear Alfvén wave mode having low frequency and a lower hybrid sideband mode. On the present analysis, through the lower hybrid sideband mode and the lower hybrid pump wave, a ponderomotive force is applied that initiates the shear Alfvén wave mode. Now, the dust grains that are already present inside the plasma impact this instability. It is evident from the results that a rise in growth rate occurs with axial wave number, oscillatory velocity of pump waves, as well as with diverse amplitude of pump waves, relative density, etc., for typically existing complex dusty plasma parameters. However, the growth rated declines with the enhancement in applied magnetic field. The magnetic field related to the shear Alfvén wave plays a vital role in case of anomalous diffusion, and these theoretical results may be useful in explaining the behavior of tokamak plasmas due to the presence of dust.

The Brazilian Journal of Physics is a peer-reviewed international journal published by the Brazilian Physical Society (SBF). The journal publishes new and original research results from all areas of physics, obtained in Brazil and from anywhere else in the world. Contents include theoretical, practical and experimental papers as well as high-quality review papers. Submissions should follow the generally accepted structure for journal articles with basic elements: title, abstract, introduction, results, conclusions, and references.
