The authors also use cultural data from dissertation works of graduated doctoral students to see the characteristics of the invisible college. The present study found that there were invisible colleges formed due to several factors namely institutional similarity, research-interest similarity, paradigm similarity and method similarity between doctoral candidates and their supervisors in the thesis or dissertation writing. The present study also found that some invisible colleges have characteristics in that homogeneity or heterogeneity of their study.
