Abstract
Cryptocarya muthuvariana R. Jagad., Sureshkumar, Gangapr. & S.P. Mathew sp. nova (Lauraceae), a new species from the Edamalakkudy forests in Idukki District, Kerala, India, is described and illustrated. An identification key to species of Cryptocarya known from India is provided.
