It is also shown that the present model can identify and quantify the localized effects while reference models available in the literature fail to do so. Abstract

The structural response of soft-core sandwich beams of rectangular cross-section subjected to torsion is investigated. The paper uses the concepts of the extended high-order sandwich panel theory and generalizes the approach to account for the torsional response and its unique mechanisms.
