EPCAMH Call for Papers: Special Issue on Professional Education

Abstract

Evidence-Based Practice in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (EPCAMH) is now accepting papers for a special issue on best practices and innovative approaches to professional education across the developmental trajectory of psychology, educational programs aimed at other behavioral health professionals, and psychology’s role in these efforts. This special issue will be guest edited by Jennifer Reese, Psy.D. and Robert Friedberg, Ph.D. Submissions are due September 1, 2023. Effective behavioral healthcare is a precious resource as the need for services continues to outpace the number of providers entering the workforce. This necessitates ensuring that the behavioral healthcare workforce is appropriately educated to provide evidence-based care, from the time they are preparing to become practitioners to when they are well into their careers as updated practice guidelines are developed. Additionally, as innovative models for delivering care are researched and developed to assist in meeting the demand for services, effective means by which to disseminate these strategies to those engaging in applied work is paramount. In particular, recognition that the majority of the pediatric behavioral health workforce is comprised of master’s prepared clinicians will be welcomed. This special issue focuses on highlighting examples of professional education with particular attention to implementation and sustainability.
