Abstract
Students on undergraduate courses in surveying are the practitioners of the future: their course must be designed to prepare them as industry professionals. As part of students' learning experience, opportunities to carry out, in the safety of the formal learning environment, activities which practitioners undertake in their everyday work are invaluable preparation for industry.
