Abstract
KINETICS STUDY OF MANGANESE LEACHING OF LOW GRADE MANGANESE ORE FROM WAY KANAN REGENCY LAMPUNG PROVINCE USING MOLASSES IN SULFURIC ACID. The experiments of manganese leaching of low grade manganese ore from Way Kanan regency Lampung province using sugarcane molasses as reductan agent in sulfuric acid were investigated. This experiment was conducted to study the processes controlling the leaching rate of manganese ore and the values of the reaction rate constants and / or the diffusion constant and activation energy . Leaching is done with the experimental conditions remain Percent solids 10 % , stirring speed 300 rpm , temperature and concentration are varied , molasses doses as much as 80 g / L. Kinetics behaviour of mangan leaching was predicted by using Shrinking Core model ( SCM) . The results of leaching of low grade manganese ore from Way Kanan regency Lampung province can be done by using molasses as a reducing agent in sulfuric acid medium. Kinetics study of manganese leaching using molasses as reducing agent shows that the rate of manganese leaching is controlled by the diffusion of reaction product through unreacted core with activation energy of 3.73 kcal/mole.
期刊介绍:
The journal Metalurgija is primary scientific periodical that publishes scientific papers (original papers, preliminary notes, reviewed papers) as well as professional papers from the area of basic, applicable and developing researching in metallurgy and boundary metallurgy areas (physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering). These papers relate to processing ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, treating investigating as well as testing of raw materials, semi products and products, especially in the area of improving new materials and possibilities of their implementation. The journal is the only national periodical of this kind in the Republic of Croatia and covers the scientific field of metallurgy, especially:
physical metallurgy and materials;
process metailurgy, (ferrous and non-ferrous);
mechanical metallurgy (processing, power , etc.);
related (adjoing) branches: mechanlcal engineering, chemistry, physics etc.
