Abstract
Background: Lumbar flexibility is very important for each individual, because it can make daily movements easier and can protect someone from injury. In order to prove that giving Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) is better than giving static stretching in increasing lumbar flexibility on batik craftsman in Giriloyo. Method: The research design was using randomized pre and post-test design. Subjects of this research were 30 people who were then divided into 2 groups, were given treatment twice a week for 4 weeks according to their respective Sport and Fitness Journal E-ISSN: 2654-9182 Volume 9, No.1, Januari 2021: 82-87 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------83 groups. The first group received DNS treatment and the second group received static stretching treatment. Lumbar flexibility is measured by a modified-modified Schoober test. The variables controlled in this study were age, length of work, and BMI. Result: Based on the results of paired sample t-tests both DNS and static stretching values with p <0.05, which states that both DNS and static stretching have a significant effect in increasing lumbar flexibility on batik craftsman in Giriloyo. Furthermore, the results of t-test between groups using the independent sample t-test is obtained p values <0.05. It shows that there is a difference in effect between DNS and static stretching. Conclusion: The DNS treatment give greater influence than static stretching to increase lumbar flexibility in batik craftsmen in Giriloyo. Keyword: DNS, static stretching, lumbar flexibility.
