Przegląd zabytków na podłożu papierowym na terenie Górnego Mustangu w Nepalu

Abstract

Mustang is one of the few places in the world where Tibetan culture is still present. Books are one of the pillars of religion for this Nepalese region. The article presents examples of relics on paper from the Upper Mustang, which are strongly related to the culture of the Loba people. In addition to monastic and private collections, stupas and prayer mills have been described. This article has been prepared as part of a PhD entitled A Tibetan book as a cultural relic in the Mustang: problems of preventive conservation on the example of a collection of manuscripts from the Mardzong caves, written at the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Bibliology of the University of Warsaw. The Mardzong collection discussed in the text has been studied as part of the project The manuscripts from the Mardzong caves in Nepal: collection analysis, paper research and dating, financed by the National Science Center as part of the "SONATA BIS 4" competition, grant 2014/14 / E / HS3 / 00770 and carried out at the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Library of the University of Warsaw in 2015-2018.
