Ethanol root extract and fractions of Sphenocentrum jollyanum abrogate hyperglycemia and low body weight in Streptozotocin-induced diabetic Wistar albino Rats

Diabetes was induced by intraperitoneal injection of a single dose of 70mg/kg b.w of streptozotocin. Fasting blood glucose levels were determined with glucometer.\n \n \n \n Treatment of diabetic rats with the extract and fractions of Sphenocentrum jollyanum at varied doses significantly (P<0.05) decreased glucose level in a dose and time dependent manner. There was an increase in body weights of rats during treatment.\n \n \n \n The extract and fractions lowered glucose levels and raised body weights of diabetic rats. 黄芩乙醇根提取物及提取物对链脲佐菌素诱导的糖尿病Wistar白化大鼠的高血糖和低体重有明显的抑制作用
研究了卓利菊乙醇根提取物及提取物对链脲佐菌素致糖尿病白化大鼠空腹血糖和体重的影响。48只大鼠随机分为8组。1、2组为糖尿病大鼠,分别给予生理盐水0.5ml和格列苯脲0.5mg/kg b.w; 3组为非糖尿病大鼠,给予生理盐水0.5ml。4、5、6组为糖尿病大鼠,分别给予250、500、1000 mg/kg b.w的提取物;7、8组为糖尿病大鼠,分别给予250 mg/kg b.w的甲醇和乙酸乙酯提取物。腹腔注射链脲佐菌素70mg/kg b.w单剂量诱导糖尿病。用血糖仪测定空腹血糖水平。不同剂量的独角仙提取物和提取物对糖尿病大鼠的血糖水平均有显著降低(P<0.05),且呈剂量和时间依赖性。治疗期间大鼠体重增加。提取物和馏分降低了糖尿病大鼠的血糖水平,增加了体重。这表明黄芩具有抗糖尿病的特性,可用于糖尿病的治疗。
