Abstract

T CRYSTAL DRAWINGS of minerals figured in this article are entirely the work of Henri Ungemach (1879–1936) (fig. 1). His passion for crystal morphology occupied most of his spare time from approximately 1912 until his death in 1936 (Hocart 1938). He took pride in the extreme accuracy of his measurements and provided theoreticians with indisputable data; indeed, he viewed this mission as his main contribution to mineralogy:
