Right after WW1 none of independent librarians union was active neither in city nor in province (Pomerania). Torun librarians participated in the works of the Circle of Poznan-Pomeranian Union of Polish Librarians. The headquarters of the Union was situated at the University Library of the Poznan University. The Circle was originated in 1928 by members of The Poznan Branch of Polish Librarians Union and director of The Copernicus Municipal Library in Torun, Zygmunt Mocarski. He was a very strong personality among Torun librarians. The paper describes his activity during the years 1919–1939 (i.e. also before his arrival in Torun in 1923). The list of the Circle members from Torun (and Pomearnia) is presented with some characteristics of librarians added. The same concerns institutions.
