Abstract

Summary: Gasteria disticha var. marxii is described as a new variety from the lower foothills of the Witteberg and Klein Swartberg near Laingsburg, Western Cape, South Africa. It differs from other varieties mainly by its dwarf stature, an adaptation to its harsh habitat.
