Abstract

Various methods of isolating cellulosic fibers from banana pseudo-stems including mechanical extraction, steam release, steam release combined with chemical treatment, and an enzymatic method with pectinase from Staphylococcus sciuri, were performed. The fibers were produced by all the methods and characterized.
