The epidemic situation of novel coronavirus in China is still continuing and is gradually spreading all over the world. As a susceptible population, the number of cases among children is increasing. Children with diabetes complicated with infectious diseases COVID-19 accompanied by gastrointestinal symptoms are prone to hypoglycemia risk, while infection makes it difficult to control the rise of blood sugar, which may lead to diabetes ketoacidosis (DKA) and multiple organ failure in severe cases. This article puts forward suggestions on the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes children with COVID-19 during hospitalization. While actively treating COVID-19, if combined with DKA, attention should be paid to active fluid replacement, continuous intravenous infusion of low-dose insulin, strengthened blood glucose monitoring, timely adjustment of insulin dosage, and reasonable diet.
