GC/MS analysis of the essential oil from Tanacetum vulgare L. resulted in the identification of 16 compounds constituting 82.1% of the total oil. Gram-positive bacteria, mainly Bacillus subtilis, were more susceptible to essential oils from both plants than were gramnegative species. Tested essential oils posses also anti-yeast activity.
