Abstract
A new species of Biston from the Balkan Peninsula is described. This species, Bistonrosenbauerisp. n., has been previously overlooked for a long time. The species is nearest to Bistonstrataria (Hufnagel, 1767) and also close to B.achyra Wehrli, 1936. Male genitalia and barcoding data are compared for these externially similar species from the Western Palaearctic.
