In conclusion, translation techniques applicable in the case of ecclesionyms are listed, depending on their main function in the text. Abstract
This paper discusses problematic ecclesionyms in translation from Polish into Russian. The first part provides an overview of selected names of Catholic churches in Russia. These names are analyzed as potential recognized equivalents, taking into account their frequency, variants, and compliance with the Catholic tradition. The second part reviews bilingual dictionaries and discusses equivalents for the heorthonym Wniebowzięcie (Assumption) presented in them.
